Course Outline
This nationally recognised training course provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate the equipment in a range of working environments including earthmoving, civil construction, mining and related industries.
- Legislation and standards applicable to operating an Excavator
- Risk management, control procedures & prepare for Excavator operations
- Drive and operate Excavator, and modify the operating technique to meet changing work conditions
- Select, remove and fit attachments
- Relocate the Excavator
- Carry out machine operator maintenance
- Conduct housekeeping
Assessment type: Theory and Practical
On successful completion of being deemed competent you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a plastic industry wallet card issued by QTLT RTO 40931.
Prerequisites
- Minimum 17 years of age to sit the assessment
- Proficient in English
- Phone, iPad or computer with camera if doing online theory
A short literacy and numeracy test will be required.

VOCs
Verification of Competency (VOC) available for all machinery, heavy vehicles and other competencies.
